Fraudsters high jacking the nation by demanding outrageous compensation for national roads may soon be a thing of the past if Transport Ministers Don Polyes 20 Meter Road Infrastructure Bill is passed in Parliament.

If you have ever travelled up on the Highlands Highway, you will see these houses and gardens that I can only describe as fake tiny shacks all along the side of the roads. You couldn’t even fit a dog into some of them. Many of them are less than 30 centimeters of the highlands highway.

The Highlands Highway will become a Four Lane Freeway

The Works and Transport Minister Don Polye has announced that the badly rundown Highlands Highway will be expanded to a four lane freeway stretching from Lae all the way to Southern Highlands and Enga Province, opening up the provinces and increasing the flow of goods along this all important road.

When exactly that will happen is anyone’s guess but he assured everyone at the Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council forum in Goroka recently that the government has given this project first priority.

A disgruntled man from Southern Highlands went berserk with a gun at the Port Moresby Domestic Airport Terminal car park, shooting at people from the back of a utility with a pump action shot gun.It has been reported that he was part of a group of four armed men who went to the domestic terminal to challenge the executives of the Moran Special Purposes Authority (MSPA) which his brother was the disposed Chairman in recent elections.

What is Novated Lease?

Novated lease is a financial lease agreement for the lease ( & eventual purchase) of a good condition vehicle between a bank which has the novated lease product, an employee and his/her employer.

Under the agreement, the employer guarantees the lease payments to the bank for the vehicle through salary deductions from the employee’s salary deductions or their vehicle allowance.
