Increasing Smog in Port Moresby (and PNG) and its impact on our lives

Have you found yourself or your kids coming down more with strong chest coughs and complaints? Do your eyes continuously get red and irritated?

Toyota Corona for K7000.00 ono

I am selling this Toyota Corona for a freind. The car is in running condition with a nice little engine. Only issue is that it needs a new battery, its unregistered, one of the windows is down and the engine needs to be oiled up a bit.Apart from that, it has a great engine, according to my mechanic.  The sale price is K7000 but its totally negotiable. They aren’t as bad as the Highlands Highway or the potholed filled streets of Lae and much better than some of the streets of Port Moresby. Important Notice for anyone importing vehicle(s) to Papua New Guinea

I saw this on the www.nichibocars.com website, and though a repetition, still useful to remember.

As of January 1st, 2010, Mr. Brian Riches, Chief Executive Office of PNG Ports has declared the following in relation to the import of used vehicles into the ports of Port Moresby and Lae:

1) All motor vehicles entering the ports of Port Moresby and Lae will require the vehicles to be pre-cleared (customs duty paid) prior to the motor vehicle being allowed to be discharged. Should a shipping line permit a motor vehicle to be discharged contrary to this rule the subject Line will be required to back-load the motor vehicle at the Lines expense on the first available vessel of return to the port of loading.
